Every home deserves storage that works as hard as the people living in it. In Leicester, we were recently asked to take on a project that was both practical and personal: the design and installation of a custom wardrobe, tailored to the client’s specific needs.
This wasn’t just about adding storage—it was about creating a piece that fit the home, matched the client’s chosen design, and offered everyday functionality without compromising on quality.
From Vision to Reality
The project began with the client’s design choice. They had a clear vision of how they wanted the wardrobe to look and function. Our role at EastMid Builders was to take that design and bring it to life—making sure every detail was executed with precision.
Over the course of five days, our team handled everything from preparation to final polish:
Initial Measurements & Planning – Accurate measurements were essential to ensure the wardrobe fit seamlessly into the allocated space.
Framework Construction – Building a strong base and structure capable of holding weight while remaining sleek and streamlined.
Custom Fittings – Installing shelves, hanging space, and compartments that maximised storage while reflecting the client’s lifestyle.
Finishing Touches – From smooth door alignment to polished handles, every element was completed with care.
Quality Within Budget
The client wanted a wardrobe that balanced style, durability, and cost. By carefully sourcing reliable, high-quality materials and applying efficient build techniques, we were able to keep the project within budget while ensuring there was no compromise on strength or finish.
This reflects one of our core values: quality doesn’t have to be sacrificed for affordability. It’s about thoughtful planning and craftsmanship.
Challenges Along the Way
No build is without its challenges. With this project, our team worked within tight timeframes and the unique angles of the room. Aligning the design with the existing structure required adjustments and careful craftsmanship. By adapting on-site and problem-solving as a team, we were able to stay on track and deliver within the promised five days.
The Result
The finished wardrobe is more than just storage—it’s a statement piece that transforms the room. The client’s chosen design has been realised with precision, providing both the look they envisioned and the practicality they needed.
Most importantly, the client was delighted with the outcome, sharing warm feedback on the process and result. For us, this is the true measure of success: delivering something that not only looks good but genuinely improves how a space is used.
Why This Matters
Projects like this remind us that building with purpose doesn’t only apply to large-scale works like roofs and kitchens. Smaller, customised projects are just as meaningful because they touch everyday life directly. A well-designed wardrobe can reduce clutter, bring order, and create a sense of ease in the home.
At EastMid Builders, we are committed to shaping spaces that align with lifestyle, function, and long-term quality. Every project—big or small—is an opportunity to support the life our clients are building.
